Note from fellow Member, Jude Wing: Betty and I watched the lunar eclipse in my unit early one morning, so she decided to share this poem with me. She has never before written a poem; this is her first.
I woke at 3 am and there it was
high and bright moving sinking
almost out of sight.
It’s the moon of course
one of those phenoms
I love to gaze upon.
It appears at different times
sometimes early
sometimes late
always, only when it’s bright and clear.
The Creator put it in the sky
I’m not just exactly sure why
He guides its path
and changes its shape.
What wonders does he make!

Lovely Betty. It was really big and bright a few nights ago.
Betty, how lovely that you and Jude shared this experience and that you found the language to capture its wonder. -Dee
A lovely poem, exquisitely expressed, Betty. Today is April 14th, ten days later, and we are having a blizzard. If you were to write a poem today about what you see from the window, what would you say?
