Woman in Motion– Celebrating Women’s History Month
Featuring Nichelle Nichols’ (Star Trek’s Lt. Uhura) biography and her eventual partnership with NASA. In 1977 Nichols was hired by NASA to recruit the nation’s best and brightest for the Space Shuttle Program. Also, her goal was to bring more qualified women and people of color to the space program. Set in 1967 Ireland, three women sign up for a talent contest at the local parish. The prize is a trip to Lourdes, France, the pilgrimage site for miracles; each woman needed a miracle in her life.
